Lately, I keep finding myself lost deep in thought about the kids we'll be adopting. I know it will be while yet before we get to find out who they are, and even longer before we get to meet them, but my curiosity is already getting the best of me...
How old are they? Have they started school? If so, do they like school? Can they read? Have they heard of Adventures in Odyssey? What games do they love to play?
For some reason, I have the feeling they'll be boys. Not for any particular reason, other than I totally wouldn't know what to do with boys, so that seems like just the kind of thing God would do to stretch me a bit.
I wonder what they're experiencing right now. I assume they're already in foster care, but how long have they been there? What were the circumstances that brought them there? Is it a good foster home?
What kind of challenges are they dealing with? What are their health issues? Their emotional issues? What creative solutions will we have to try to help them heal?
Whoever they are, wherever they are, I pray that God is protecting their little hearts from the instability that likely fills their lives right now.
I love that you are thinking about this. Your wonderings about your future children are incredible proof that you are ready for them and that you will be a great mom, just like I knew you always would be! Whoever these children are that God has for you, they are blessed beyond what they know! And for the record, boys aren't that bad :D
ReplyDeleteLOL... I don't think boys are bad, I just have no clue what to do with them! Girls like tea parties, stuffed animals, playing dress-up, baking, and crafts... but boys?!? Other than toy cars, and building forts with blankets and furniture, I have no idea...
DeleteI agree with Kris that these children are blessed beyond what they know. Continuing to pray for you and your superman on this journey.
ReplyDeleteFor the record, I did not do tea parties, or stuffed animals, play dress up, or partake in any crafts. Not my thing. If the sport had a ball in it I was all over that.....building forts was cool, too. No girly, girl, here....but I am all woman. :)
Thanks, Pam! You make a very good point tho... we could just as easily have a girl that I have no idea what to do with! LOL! Oh, and I LOVED building forts - but what kid doesn't, right?!?
